Game introduction

During the latest Nintendo Direct, it was announced that some classic board games including Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, and Munchkin will be getting the digital treatment on Switch. Asmodee Digital, who are responsible for absolutely loads of digital board game remakes, will be handling the ports to Switch that will also feature local multiplayer modes for each game.

The award-winning tile building game, Carcassonne, will be making its way on Switch this December along with its expansions as paid DLC. The tough co-op game, Pandemic, will be out March 2019, also getting its expansions as DLC. And the deck-builder, Lord of the Rings: Living Card Game, will available in April 2019.

The Direct also promised two other board games coming later on. Both Settlers of Catan and Munchkin will make the jump to Switch at some point in the future.

A lot of these game are already available digitally on mobile devices, but for folks that might not have a decent tablet to play them on now have the option to get them for the Switch instead - yay, more options for us!

I imagine there will be even more digital tabletop games coming to the Switch in the future, so stay tuned to Pocket Gamer for more news.

4、
Robotic horror story Five Nights at Freddy's has skittered onto the App Store, meaning iOS gamers can scare themselves silly for just £1.99 / $2.99. Which isn't that much.

The game involves staying alive in a restaurant that's populated by murderous little robots. The only tools at your disposal are some doors, some lights, and some security cameras.

We've already reviewed the Android version, and we gave it a fat shiny Gold Award, calling it "a clever fright-fest that balances jump scares with knuckle-biting tension."

We went on to call Five Nights at Freddy's "a must-have for horror game aficionados."

And now you can get it on your iPad and iPhone. And you should do, because it's really, really good.

1、
Talk about a blast from the past! I Dig it came all the way back in 2009, when mobile was still in its infancy. Combining a neat mix of digging and upgrading, it created a great gameplay loop that could hook you for hours. After a disappointing free to play sequel, inMotion went back to the basics with a remastered version of I Dig it, out now on Android and iOS.

It features a brand new HUD, a new engine and some improved graphics. But most of all, it's now fully compatible with all your devices.

If, like me, you're excited to play this old gem again, you'll have to fork £2.99.

Some part of me wonder if it couldn't have been done as part of an update but still, these developers have to make some money and justify updating an old app.

If you ever find yourself missing the days when you burned all your cash on Ikaruga, then ended up a weepy, frustrated mess on the floor - fear not! That experience is basically coming back next week in the form of Hyperstellar.

Hyperstellar is a rock hard schmup that challenges you to shoot everything in sight, collect gold drops, then upgrade and buy new ships. And the cycle repeats.

You only get three lives though, and if you lose them you have to either pay for more (just like in an arcade), watch an ad, or start all over again.

Then, if you get really annoyed, you can buy coin packs to get those all-important upgrades much faster or new ships. These have different hitboxes and attack patterns that will appeal to different playing styles.

If you're into the idea of Hyperstellar there's not long to wait, as it's all set for launch on July 21st on iOS.

2、
We finally got our first look at Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow with the teaser trailer posted below:

Dragon Raja, Archosaur Games' long-awaited open-world MMORPG, finally has a solid release date for iOS and Android. Over 1.5 million pre-registered players will be thrilled to hear that it's set to launch globally on February 27th.

The game boasts some of the most impressive visuals yet seen on mobile devices, with a colourful, vibrant world to explore that pulls from both sci-fi and fantasy settings.

You'll be faced with the imminent return of slumbering dragons set to once again rise and regain control of the world. Humanity requires the help of a crack team of hybrid warriors if we're to survive. This lot can harness a variety of draconic powers, using the dragons' strengths against them.
